Removal Procedure
- Remove
the screws from the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door hinge.
- Open the I/P compartment door.
- Lift up on the I/P compartment door stop strap. Remove the stop strap
from the I/P carrier.
- Remove the I/P compartment door from the I/P carrier.
- Remove the screws (2) from the inner
I/P reinforcement cover (4).
- Remove the inner reinforcement cover (4) from the I/P compartment
door (1).
- Remove the I/P compartment door latch. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement

- Remove the I/P compartment door lock cylinder. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Door Lock Cylinder Replacement
.
Installation Procedure
- Install the I/P compartment door lock cylinder. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Door Lock Cylinder Replacement
.
- Install the I/P compartment door latch. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement
.
- Position the I/P compartment door (1)
to the inner reinforcement cover (4).
- Install the reinforcement cover (4) to the I/P compartment door (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the I/P compartment door screws (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
- Position the I/P compartment door hinge to the I/P carrier.
- Install the screws to the I/P compartment door hinge.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
- Install
the I/P compartment door stop strap into the opening in the I/P carrier.
- Close the I/P compartment door.
