Important: For the removal of the front door assembly, perform steps 16 thru 22.

1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
4. Remove the front door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
5. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .
6. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement .
7. Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
8. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
9. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
10. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
11. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
12. Remove the front door window channel, front side rear. Refer to Front Side Door Window Rear Channel Replacement .
13. Remove the front door window channel and weather-strip. Refer to Door Window Channel Replacement .
14. Remove the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
15. Remove the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
16. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.



17. Disconnect the rubber conduit from the A-pillar.
18. Disconnect the front door harness electrical connector (3).
19. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.
20. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the front door hinges on the door side.



21. With an assistant, remove the door side hinge bolts.
22. With an assistant, remove the front door from the vehicle.

Important: For the installation of the front door assembly, perform steps 1 thru 7.

1. With an assistant, position the front door to the hinges.
2. With an assistant, align the hinges to the marks made on the front door.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. With an assistant, install the door hinge to front door bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the door hinge bolts to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).




4. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.
5. Connect the front door electrical harness (3).
6. Connect the rubber conduit to the A-pillar.
7. Install the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
8. Install the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
9. Install the front door window channel and weather-strip. Refer to Door Window Channel Replacement .
10. Install the front door window channel, front side rear. Refer to Front Side Door Window Rear Channel Replacement .
11. Install the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
12. Install the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
13. Install the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
14. Install the rear view mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
15. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .
16. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement .
17. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
18. Install the front door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
19. Route the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
20. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
21. Install the side front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
22. Carefully close the door. Inspect the door for proper alignment.
