Removal Procedure
  1. Open the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door.
  2. Remove the reinforcement cover from the I/P door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 740279 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the anti-rattle device from the door latch mounting point, if equipped.

    4. Object Number: 834338 Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws (1) from the I/P compartment door latch (2).
  5. Remove the door latch (2) from the I/P compartment door (3).
  6. Remove the anti-rattle device from the door latch (2), if equipped.

    7. Object Number: 740275 Size: SH
  7. Remove the door latch handle from the I/P compartment door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 740275 Size: SH
  1. Install the door latch handle to the I/P compartment door.

    2. Object Number: 834338 Size: SH
  2. Install the anti-rattle device to the door latch (2), if equipped.
  3. Install the door latch (2) to the I/P compartment door (3).

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the I/P compartment door latch screws (1).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).

  5. Connect the anti-rattle device to the door latch mounting point, if equipped.
  6. Install the inner I/P reinforcement cover to the I/P compartment door . Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .
  7. Inspect the I/P compartment door for proper operation.
  8. Close the I/P compartment door.
