High Pressure Regulator Line Replacement Inlet or Outlet

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 384164  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information in the 1998 J Platform Service Manual.
  2. Clamp off the coolant hose at the front of the vehicle.

  3. Object Number: 384167  Size: SH
  4. Clamp off the coolant hose at the rear of the vehicle.

  5. Object Number: 384168  Size: SH
  6. Remove the coolant line brackets.

  7. Object Number: 384170  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the coolant line from the bracket clips.
  9. Disconnect the line from the heater hose at the front of the vehicle.
  10. Disconnect the line from the HPR hose at the rear of the vehicle.
  11. Remove the line.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 384170  Size: SH
  1. Install the coolant line.
  2. Clip the line into the coolant bracket clips.

  3. Object Number: 384168  Size: SH
  4. Connect the HPR coolant hose to the coolant line.
  5. Connect the heater hose to the coolant line.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the coolant line brackets.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant line bracket bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  9. Unclamp the coolant hoses at the front and the rear of the vehicle.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Check the coolant level. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling in the 1998 J Platform Service Manual.
