Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 384196  Size: SH
  1. Remove the tank cover. Refer to Fuel Tank Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the spare tire bracket.

  3. Object Number: 384198  Size: SH
  4. Remove and discard the tank strap nut and bolt.

  5. Object Number: 384199  Size: SH
  6. Lower the rear seat.
  7. Remove the clevis and bridge pin.
  8. Remove the tank strap.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 384202  Size: SH
  1. Verify that the rubber isolator is correctly positioned.
  2. Install the tank strap.

  3. Object Number: 384198  Size: SH
  4. Install the clevis and bridge pin.
  5. Raise the rear seat.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install a new tank strap nut and bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the tank strap nut to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  9. Install the spare tire bracket.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the spare tire bracket bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  11. Install the tank cover. Refer to Fuel Tank Cover Replacement .
