COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK STRIKER NEW P/N AND INSTALL PROCEDURES

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-83 Celebritys

When replacing the instrument panel compartment door lock striker on the 1982-83 Celebritys, use P/N 14086179, striker. Install the striker as follows:

1. Remove the trim plate from the I/P.

2. Remove the existing striker plate.

3. Align the new striker rod into the corner of the rabbet and against the left boss.

4. Drill two (2) 3/16 inch diameter holes using the striker as a template.

5. Attach the striker with two 3/16 inch diameter 3/8 inch long blind rivets as shown (see illustration).
