--------- The power steering pulley may contact the engine wiring harness during engine roll on the 1989 A car with 3300 (LG7) engine. The illustration shows the area of contact. The condition may be reported as loss of blower motor, or a driveability condition if the fusible link is not carrying current.
----- Wire harness is not properly secured to the dash, particularly in the area of the wiring to the blower motor. This condition was corrected in production about October 31, 1988.

---------- 1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. If necessary, repair any rubbing damage done to the wire harness. Also replace fusible link if required.
3. Secure the wire harness to the dash to prevent contact, using retaining straps as needed. See Figure 1.
4. Reconnect negative battery.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
