1990-91 Oldsmobile AJ and AM 35, 37 & 69 assembled at Ste. Therese. 1990-90 Chevrolet AW35 assembled at Ste. Therese. 1990-91 Chevrolet and Pontiac J assembled in Lordstown.
The purpose of this bulletin is to advise the usage of nonmetallic paint in Production on interior body areas assembled in Ste. Therese and Lordstown.
These areas are painted using colour-matched primer without basecoat/clearcoat. This produces a non-metallic colour that closely coordinates to the topcoat colour but has a lower gloss specification than the exterior topcoat.
There will not be an exact match to metallic colours of exterior basecoat/clearcoat. If repairs of the primed areas are required, use basecoat/clearcoat enamel to match the exterior colour.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
