Some early production 1984 'T' Series vehicles with automatic transmissions and non closed loop emission systems may have been built with incorrect accelerator pump discharge nozzles.
These vehicles may exhibit a light to heavy hesitation on acceleration at ambients greater than 20 deg. C or less than -15 deg.C. This condition is most noticeable prior to the choke being fully open.
Vehicles having the following production sequence numbers (last 6 digits of V.I.N.) or later will have the correct nozzle.
Chevette - 145096 Acadian - 701927 T1000 - 208407
If a vehicle exhibits these conditions a service package (P/N NPN 3017) may be ordered. This package contains a discharge nozzle, 2 discharge nozzle gaskets, an air horn gasket and 2 choke rod retainer clips. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual for installation procedures.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
