Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 214288 Size: SH
  1. Install the exhaust manifold (3) to the cylinder heads.
  2. Important: Begin the torque pattern on the center bolt or stud. Continue outward each way.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt (5) or the stud (1) to the exhaust manifold (3).
  4. Tighten

    1. Tighten the center bolts to 54 N·m (40 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bolt or the stud to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
  5. Tighten the exhaust pipes at the mufflers.

  6. Object Number: 217052 Size: SH
  7. Install the spark plug wire heat shield to the exhaust manifold bolt or the stud.
  8. Tighten
