  1. Install the gaskets onto the cylinder heads.
  2. Install the end gaskets on the front and rear of the engine block.
  3. Install the intake manifold onto the engine block.
  4. Apply sealer GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the threads of the intake manifold bolts.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the intake manifold bolts and studs.
  7. Tighten

    1. Tighten the bolts and studs (1-16) in sequence to 34 N·m (25 lb ft) on the first pass.
    2. Tighten the bolts and studs (1-16) in sequence to 40 N·m (30 lb ft) on the final pass.

  8. Install the ignition coil.
  9. Install the ignition coil attaching nut and bolt
  10. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nut to 40  N·m (30 lb ft).
