  1. Install the engine coolant thermostats with O-rings.
  2. Install the water inlet housing.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the water inlet housing bolts and stud.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the water inlet housing bolts and stud to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  6. Install the MAP sensor and bracket.
  7. Install the MAP sensor bracket nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the MAP sensor bracket nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  9. Install the EGR valve studs (4) (if required).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the EGR valve gasket (3).
  12. Install the EGR valve (2).
  13. Install the EGR valve nuts (1).
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the EGR valve nuts (1) to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  15. Install the throttle body gasket (3).
  16. Install the throttle body (2).
  17. Install the throttle body bolts (1).
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body bolts (1) to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  19. Install the ignition coil.
  20. Install the ignition coil bolt and nut.
  21. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) and the bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
