Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 69008  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transaxle/Transmission.
  3. Remove the flywheel bolts from the crankshaft.
  4. Remove the flywheel from the crankshaft.
  5. Clean the mating surfaces on the crankshaft.
  6. Remove any burrs on the crankshaft.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the flywheel to the crankshaft.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the flywheel bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the flywheel bolts to 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

  5. Install the transmission in the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transaxle/Transmission.
  6. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
