Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 742003 Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil fill tube bracket-to-radiator panel bolts.
  2. Remove the oil fill tube clamp, if necessary.
  3. Remove the oil fill tube, if necessary.

    4. Object Number: 742001 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil fill tube bracket bolt.
  5. Remove the oil fill tube from the intake manifold, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 742001 Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant GM U.S. P/N 12377901, Canada P/N 10953504, or equivalent around the oil fill tube 19.05 mm (0.75 in) from the bottom.
  2. Install the oil fill tube to the intake manifold, if necessary.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the oil fill tube bracket bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  4. Install the oil fill tube, if necessary.
  5. Install the oil fill tube clamp, if necessary.
  6. Install the oil fill tube bracket-to-radiator panel bolts.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
