- Remove the cap bolts (2), if equipped. Discard the cap
bolts.
- Remove the bearing assemblies (1), as required.
- Remove the journal (15) from the yoke (4).
- Remove the lubrication fitting (14).

into the yoke (4).
- Install the bearing assemblies (1), if required.
- Install the bearing straps (12), if equipped.
- Install the NEW bolts (13).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the NEW
cap bolts (2), if equipped.
Tighten
Tighten the NEW bolts to 71 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Install the NEW lubrication fitting (14).
- Apply lubricant through the NEW lubrication fitting. Refer to
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations
