Removal Procedure

  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Drain all of the air reservoirs. Refer to Draining Reservoirs .

  3. Object Number: 227891  Size: SH
  4. Remove the inflation valve.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 227891  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the inflation valve.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the inflation valve to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). The exhaust port should point down and face the rear of the vehicle.

  3. Perform the air leakage test. Refer to Front Axle Service Reservoir Air Supply Valve Operational Check .
  4. Perform the operational test. Refer to Front Axle Reservoir Air Supply Valve Leakage Test .
  5. Remove the wheel blocks.
