Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Block the wheels.
  3. Remove the reservoir. Refer to the appropriate procedures:
  4. •  Reservoir Replacement - Front Axle
    •  Primary Air Brake Supply Reservoir Replacement
    •  Reservoir Replacement - Rear Axle Front Unit
    •  Reservoir Replacement - Rear Axle Rear Unit
    •  Reservoir Replacement - Rear Axle Truck Service
    •  Reservoir Replacement - Rear Axle Tractor Service

  5. Remove the reservoir support bolts and the washers.
  6. Remove the reservoir supports.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the reservoir supports.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear axle service, tractor, to 67 N·m (49 lb ft).

  3. Install the reservoirs.
  4. Remove the wheel blocks.
