Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 208860 Size: SH
  1. Set the parking brake.
  2. Remove the retainer.
  3. Remove the washer.
  4. Remove the pushrod.

    5. Object Number: 208843 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt.
  6. Remove the stoplamp switch actuator.
  7. Remove the brake pedal.
  8. Remove the bushings and the spacer from the pedal.
  9. Inspect the bushings for wear or deterioration.

    10. Replace the bushings, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 208843 Size: SH
  1. Install the spacer and the bushings to the pedal.
  2. Install the brake pedal.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pedal bolt to 47 N·m (34 lb ft).

  4. Install the stoplamp switch actuator.

  6. Install the washer.
  7. Install the retainer.
