Removal Procedure

  1. Place a padded table in front of the vehicle.
  2. Tilt the hood forward.
  3. Support the hood.

  4. Object Number: 206395  Size: SH

    Caution: The hood check cable is under tension when the hood is opened. Use care when removing the hood check cable to prevent personal injury or damage to the vehicle.

  5. Remove the cotter and clevis pin where the check cable attaches to the radiator support brace.
  6. Ease the hood onto the table.
  7. Remove the headlamp wiring harness connector at the right front of the hood.

  9. Remove the hinge bolt.
  10. Remove the hood.

Installation Procedure

  1. Place the hood on the padded table in front of the vehicle.
  2. Align the hinge bushings to the holes in the hinge bracket.

  3. Object Number: 206400  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the hood hinge bolt through the bracket and the hinge.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  6. Connect the harness connector to the headlamp harness at the right front of the hood.
  7. While supporting the hood, align the brace spring to the radiator support brace.

  8. Object Number: 206395  Size: SH
  9. Install the cotter pin and the clevis pin through the following components:
  10. • The brace spring
    • The radiator support bracket
