This bulletin is being revised to include additional labor operation information (in italics). Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-00-89-031 (Section 00 -- General Information).
Effective August 1, 2007 the General Motors Isuzu Commercial Truck (GMICT) joint venture was dissolved. Isuzu has taken back distribution rights for the GM W-Series low cab forward (LCF) vehicles. Due to this change, several warranty related systems have been modified including WINS, GMVIS and Electronic Key Codes (EKC).
Warranty Claim Submission
The last credit cycle for processing warranty claims for the W-Series medium duty truck, as well as any Isuzu badged N, F and H-series trucks, through the WINS claim payment system was with cycle #816 dated July 27, 2007. These warranty claims should now be submitted through the Isuzu warranty claim system. This includes claims for open Recalls as well as part warranty claims (current claim types B and N).
Additionally, warranty claims on the 7.8L diesel engine (engine codes 3, B) built by Isuzu are processed by the Isuzu claim system (a list of labor operations NOT to be submitted through WINS is below). This engine is available in both the C and T series medium duty trucks.
In order to allow for possible returned or h-routed claims, no new claims should be submitted into WINS for these vehicles.
MIC
MIC/GMPP claims relating to the W-Series medium duty truck and the noted engine labor operations for the 7.8L C & T Series medium duty truck are no longer processed through WINS. The claims relating to these applications will need to be processed manually by MIC’s National Mechanical Service Center (NMSC). Policy information and coverage confirmation can be obtained by calling MIC’s Claims Audio Response Entry System (CARES) at 1-800-642-2273. Once policy/claim confirmation is obtained, transfer to a Customer Service Representative to finalize the claim for submittal and reimbursement.
GMVIS
Effective Monday July 30, 2007 all W-Series VINs as well as Isuzu badged medium duty Trucks, including the N-Series, F-Series, and H-Series, were removed from GMVIS. This includes all screens within GMVIS. Vehicle information, including open recalls, applicable warranties, and claim history should be obtained from Isuzu.
Labor Time Guide Information
The labor time guides for the W/N series vehicles are provided by Isuzu.
Delayed Warranty Start
The Delayed Warranty Start Program has been modified to not accept the submission of a Delayed Warranty Start for W-Series trucks as well as Isuzu badged medium duty trucks, including the N-Series, F-Series, and H-Series.
Key Codes
All W-Series Key Codes as well as Isuzu badged Medium Duty Trucks, including the N-Series, F-Series, and H-Series, have been removed from the Electronic Key Code (EKC) System. Key codes for affected vehicles should be obtained from Isuzu.
FleetTrac
The GM FleetTrac Program is not affected by these changes.
