Product Quality teams continually seek valuable information for engineering improvements. The new 2008 Model Year with 5.2L 4HK1 Diesel Engine in the models listed above, Isuzu Motors will be strictly monitoring Engine Performance until May 31, 2008.
During the 2008 model year evaluation period (start of sale through May 31, 2008), the following components related to engine will be monitored:
• | Engine |
• | Turbo |
• | Fuel Supply Pump |
• | Fuel Injector |
• | ECM |
• | Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) |
Based on the failure information provided to Isuzu Motors America, it may be decided to exchange the complete engine assembly for engineering evaluation. In this situation, the new engine will be provided at no cost and the dealer should use the following parts mark-up allowance.
Labor Operation | Part | Allowance |
---|---|---|
J1820 J1840 | Engine Assembly | $900.00 |
Replaced failed engines will be sent to McLaren Performance Tech. Dealers must be ready to have the failed engine picked up 2-3 days after the repair. Dealers will need to include all failed parts and a copy of the repair order with the shipment. Dealers will need to pre-pay the freight charges and put the freight charges for the engine on the warranty claim for reimbursement.
The dealer will need to arrange shipment of the engine to:
McLaren Performance Tech 32233 West Eight Mile Road Livonia, MI 48152 248-477-6240 (For Transportation Reference Only)
The following worksheet is to be completed by the dealer for all failures related to engine and faxed to 562-229-7005.
A thorough diagnosis must be performed on the condition in order to prevent unnecessary engine replacements. Isuzu Motors America may request the dealer to perform additional work in order to accurately understand the failure and validate the necessity for engine replacement.
Upon review of the diagnosis, if the engine should be replaced then Isuzu Motors of America will send out the replacement engine.
The engine assembly is supplied at No Charge. Submit for normal labor hours and allowance as described above.
