Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the nut and the
washer from the stabilizer shaft link pin.
- Remove stabilizer shaft link pin from the frame
- Remove the stabilizer
shaft from the stabilizer link using the J 24319-B
(1).
- Pull the stabilizer bar downward to remove the stabilizer link
pin.
- Remove the nuts, the washers and the clamps.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft from the axle.
- Remove the insulators from the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
- Install the stabilizer
shaft to the front axle.
- Install the insulators onto the stabilizer shaft.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the clamps,
the washers, and the nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
- Install the stabilizer shaft to the stabilizer links.
- Install the washer and the nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
