J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 157007  Size: SH
  4. Remove the nuts and the washers retaining the stabilizer shaft link pins to the stabilizer shaft.
  5. Remove the nuts, washers and insulators retaining the stabilizer shaft links to the frame.

  6. Object Number: 754762  Size: SH
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft link (2) from the stabilizer shaft using the J 24319-B (1) .
  8. Rotate the stabilizer shaft downward and remove the stabilizer shaft link pins.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 157024  Size: SH
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft link to the stabilizer shaft.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the insulators, washers and the nuts retaining the stabilizer shaft link to the frame.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut retaining the stabilizer shaft link to the frame until the distance between each retainer is 38 mm (1.5 in).

  5. Install the stabilizer shaft link pin retaining nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut retaining the stabilizer shaft link to the stabilizer bar to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

  7. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
