Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Assemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift

Tools Required

1. Lubricate and install the inner race (1).
2. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (2).
3. Install the upper bearing spring (3).
4. Lubricate the brass surface of the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4) with lithium grease.
5. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4).
6. Install the shaft lock assembly onto the steering shaft assembly.



7. Install the new bearing retainer (1) onto the steering shaft. The bearing retainer must be firmly seated in the groove on the race and upper shaft assembly.
8. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly using J 23653-SIR and J 42137 .
9. Remove J 23653-SIR and J 42137 .
10. If the steering column has an inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .
11. If the steering column does not have an inflatable restrainst steering wheel module coil. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Assemble - Off Vehicle Floor Shift

Tools Required

1. Lubricate and install the inner race (1).
2. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (2).
3. Install the upper bearing spring (3).
4. Lubricate the brass surface of the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4) with lithium grease.
5. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4).
6. Install the shaft lock assembly  (5) onto the steering shaft assembly.



7. Install the new bearing retainer (1) onto the steering shaft. The bearing retainer must be firmly seated in the groove on the race and upper shaft assembly.
8. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly using J 23653-SIR and J 42137 .
9. Remove J 23653-SIR and J 42137 .
10. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .
