Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Support the rear axle with suitable safety
stands.
- Remove the following parts
from the stabilizer links:
• | The link spacer (9) and insulators (6, 8,10) |
- Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator brackets (1) from the axle.
- Remove the stabilizer from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the stabilizer shaft (4) to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the stabilizer
insulators brackets (1) to the rear axle.
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket to 33 N·m
(24 lb ft).
- Assemble the stabilizer link pins to the stabilizer shaft.
• | Install the link bolt (7) through the stabilizer shaft (4) insulators
(6, 8,10) and spacers. |
• | Install the link bolt (7) through the frame and install the upper
insulator (6). |
- Install the stabilizer link pin nut (11).
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer shaft link pins to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
