Shift Lever Replacement On Vehicle

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 362445  Size: SH
  1. Roll back the seal until the TORX® head screw is exposed.
  2. Remove the TORX® head screw (2).
  3. Remove the shift lever (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 362445  Size: SH
  1. Install the shift lever (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the TORX® head screw (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Roll the seal over the TORX® head screw.

Shift Lever Replacement Off Vehicle

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 374402  Size: SH
  3. Slide the shift lever seal (2) up the shift lever (4).
  4. Remove the shift lever screw (3).
  5. Remove the shift lever (4).

  1. Install the shift lever (4) and secure it with a shift lever screw (3).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  3. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
