Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement Upper

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 747016  Size: SH
  1. Remove the positive battery cable from the fan shroud.

  2. Object Number: 746716  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fan shroud bolts.
  4. Remove the upper fan shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 746716  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper fan shroud.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fan shroud bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the positive battery cable to the upper fan shroud.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fan. Refer to Fan Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 72744  Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower fan shroud bolts.
  4. Remove the lower fan shroud.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower fan shroud.

  2. Object Number: 72744  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
