Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 746867  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Disconnect the low coolant probe electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 746841  Size: SH
  4. Reposition the inlet hose clamp from the surge tank .
  5. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank.

  6. Object Number: 746843  Size: SH
  7. Reposition the outlet hose clamp from the surge tank .
  8. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the surge tank.
  9. Remove the surge tank bolts.
  10. Remove the surge tank.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 746843  Size: SH
  1. Install the surge tank.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the surge tank bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the surge tank outlet hose to the surge tank.
  6. Reposition the outlet hose clamp to the surge tank .

  8. Install the inlet hose to the surge tank.
  9. Reposition the inlet hose clamp to the surge tank .

  10. Object Number: 746867  Size: SH
  11. Connect the low coolant probe electrical connector.
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
