Removal Procedure
- Remove the ground strap bolt at the passenger side frame rail.
- Remove the ground strap nut at the body stud.
- Remove the ground strap.
- Remove the transmission oil fill tube nut from the engine block stud.
- Remove the transmission oil fill tube bracket from the engine block stud.
- Remove the engine harness ground nut and ground.
- Remove the ground strap.
- Remove the ground strap nut from the transmission stud.
- Remove the ground strap from the stud.
Installation Procedure
- Install the ground strap to the transmission stud.
- Install the ground strap nut to the stud.
- Install the ground strap.
- Install the engine harness ground and nut.
- Install the transmission oil fill tube bracket to the engine block stud.
- Install the transmission oil fill tube nut to the engine block stud.
- Install the ground strap.
- Install the ground strap nut at the body stud.
- Install the ground strap bolt at the passenger side frame rail.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the ground strap nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the engine harness ground nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the transmission oil fill tube nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the ground strap nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the ground strap bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
