Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 728660  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the fuel feed and return pipe fittings at the fuel filter (5) inlet and the return pipe union (4).

  4. Object Number: 381574  Size: SH
  5. Remove the fuel feed and return pipes from the retaining clips (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 381574  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel feed and return pipes into the retaining clips (2).
  2. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 728660  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes to the fuel filter (5) inlet and the return pipe union (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel pipe fittings to 27 N·m (20 lb ft) using a back-up wrench.

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Refill the fuel system.
  8. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  11. 8.1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
    8.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    8.3. Turn ON the ignition.
    8.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
