  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. With the key in the ignition, close the driver door.
  3. Turn the headlamp switch OFF.

Does the chime activate?

Remove the key from the ignition.

Test the key-in-ignition switch signal circuit for a short to ground between the ignition key alarm switch and the driver door jamb switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the key-in-ignition switch signal circuit for a short to ground between C266 and the multifunction alarm module (MFAM). Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
