Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the front screw from the right door sill plate.

  3. Object Number: 276537  Size: SH
  4. Remove the retainer screw.
  5. Remove the trim panel from the retainers.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the powertrain control module .

  7. Object Number: 258006  Size: SH
  8. Remove the blower motor cover.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor (5).
  10. Remove the bolt from the right lower instrument panel support.
  11. Remove the blower motor cooling tube.
  12. Remove the blower motor screws (4).
  13. Complete the following steps in order to remove the blower motor:
  14. • Carefully pull forward the blower motor in order to avoid distorting the blower fan.
    • Pry back the right side of the instrument panel.
  15. Complete the following inspection steps:
  16. • Inspect the blower motor terminals for distortion.
    • Clean any corrosion from the terminals, or replace the blower motor as necessary.
    • Inspect the flange of the blower motor for any damage or distortion that may cause an air leak.
    • Repair the flange, as necessary.
    • Inspect the blower fan for any damage or distortion.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 258006  Size: SH
  1. Install the blower motor (5) into position.
  2. Install the blower motor screws (4).
  3. Install the blower motor cooling tube.
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor.
  5. Install the blower motor cover.
  6. Install the bolt to the right lower instrument panel support.
  7. Connect the electrical connectors to the PCM.

  9. Install the trim panel to the retainers.
  10. Install the retainer screw.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  12. Install the front screw into the front door sill plate.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  14. Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
