Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the heater vent module. Refer to Heater/Vent Module Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 669156  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws from the heater case cover (8) of the heater vent module.
  5. Remove the heater case cover (8).
  6. Separate the module halves.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature actuator.

  9. Remove the screws from the air temperature actuator.
  10. Remove the actuator from the heater vent module.

  11. Object Number: 669156  Size: SH
  12. Remove the air temperature door (16) from blower motor case (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 669156  Size: SH
  1. Install the air temperature door (16) to the blower motor case (1).

  2. Object Number: 258026  Size: SH
  3. Install the air temperature actuator to the heater vent module.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screws to the air temperature actuator.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator.
  8. Install the module halves.

  10. Install the heater case cover (8) to the HVAC module.
  11. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  12. Install the screws to the heater case cover (8).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  14. Install the heater vent module. Refer to Heater/Vent Module Replacement .
  15. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
