Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the floor air outlet. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mode actuator.

  3. Object Number: 258020  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws from the mode actuator.
  5. Remove the mode actuator from the control lever.
  6. Remove the mode actuator from the HVAC module.

  7. Object Number: 669159  Size: MH
  8. Remove the clips holding the air distribution case halves together.
  9. Separate the air distribution case from the heater case.
  10. Remove the mode door (14) from the heater case (12).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 669159  Size: MH
  1. Install the mode door (14) to the case (12).
  2. Install the air distribution case to the heater case.
  3. Install the clips holding the air distribution case halves together.

  4. Object Number: 258020  Size: SH
  5. Install the mode actuator to the HVAC module.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the screws to the mode actuator.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the mode actuator to the control lever.
  10. Connect the electrical connector to the mode actuator.
  11. Install the floor air outlet. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Replacement .
