END OF EXCHANGE PROGRAM INFORMATION

Model and Year 1987-88 CELEBRITY,CAVALIER, CORSICA, BERETTA WITH HM-282 MANUAL TRANSAXLE 1988 C/K TRUCKS WITH HM-290 MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Effective December 31, 1987, the existing exchange programs covered in Dealer Service Bulletins 87-24 (Section 7B) dated November 1986, and 88-05 (Section 78) March 1987, will be eliminated.

Service parts/overhaul packages will be available through GMSPO after mid-November 1987 for both transmissions.

General Motors Product Service Training has made available the following courses for your technicians training needs:

HM-282 - Course number 1700.04 ( 1 day) HM-290 - Course number 17003.11 ( 2 days)

Essential tools will be shipped from Kent-Moore in late October 1987.

Note: A small (toaster) oven is required to service both units but is not included with the essential tools. The oven is used to prevent part damage during assembly. Dealerships should obtain an oven before servicing these units. The ovens should have internal dimensions of: 3" in height, 6" in depth, and 10" in width. Ovens should also be capable of obtaining 500 degrees in temperature.
