CAMPAIGN: INCORRECT OR OMITTED CERTIFICATION LABEL

Models: 1989 CK 10-30 Light Model Trucks Built at Oshawa

General Motors of Canada has determined that certain 1989 CK 10-30 Light Model Trucks were produced at the Oshawa Truck Assembly Plant with incorrect or missing vehicle certification labels. The trucks were assembled correctly. The incorrect information or missing certification labels fail to conform to the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120, "Tire Selection and Rims For Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars."

To correct this condition, a new certification label is to be affixed to each affected vehicle.

Since a new certification label can be easily installed and to reduce owner inconvenience, new certification labels will be sent directly to owners of record. Owners may install the new label or ask a dealer to do the service. Dealer service is to be done at no charge to owners.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition.
