CAMPAIGN: EMISSION LABEL ERROR SS454 SPORT PACKAGE

Model and Year: 1990 CHEVROLET C15 TRUCK WITH L19 ENGINE (SS 454 SPORT PACKAGE)

General Motors has determined that certain 1990 Chevrolet C15 Trucks with L19 engines (SS 454 Sport Package) have been shipped with incorrect emission (tune-up) labels which are required by the Clean Air Act. The incorrect labels read "AIR/EGR/TWC+OC/02S", but should read "AIR/EGR/TWC/02S"

To correct this condition, it will be necessary to install a new emission label on the radiator support.

Since a new label can easily be installed, and to reduce owner inconvenience, the label will be sent with instructions directly to owners of record. Owners may install the label on the radiator support of their vehicle. However, if they desire, they may bring the label to their servicing Chevrolet Dealer for installation at no charge.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
