Backup Lamp Switch Replacement NV3500

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
  3. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 4778  Size: SH
  5. Remove the backup lamp switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 4778  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the backup lamp switch.
  2. The backup lamp switch has pre-applied thread sealant on the threads.

    Tighten
    Tighten the backup lamp switch to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  3. Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.
  4. Remove the safety stands.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Connect the battery negative cable assembly to the battery negative terminal.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

Removal Procedure

  2. Support the vehicle with safety stands.

  3. Object Number: 102879  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.

  5. Object Number: 102880  Size: SH
  6. Remove the backup lamp switch.

  5. Lower the vehicle.
