Removal Procedure
- Remove the negative battery cable.
- Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (5,6).
- Remove the screws from the back panel of the overhead console.
- Remove the back panel of the overhead console.
- Remove the screws (1) holding the universal garage door opener from the overhead console.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the universal garage door opener.
- Remove the universal garage door opener from the overhead console.
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector from the universal garage door opener to the overhead console.
- Install the universal garage door opener to the overhead console.
- Install the screws (1) from the universal garage door opener to the overhead console.
- Install the back panel to the overhead console.
- Install the screws to hold the back panel to the overhead console.
- Connect the remaining electrical connectors (5,6) from the overhead console to the vehicle.
- Install the overhead console to the vehicle. Refer to Roof Console Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Install the negative battery cable.
