- Ensure the park brake is not set.
- Shift the transmission from park to drive and back to park.
- Connect a scan tool.
- Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module
(BCM).

- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the AUTO position.
- Ensure the ambient light sensor is not covered or has no obstruction
to the light.
Was the problem found?

- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Remove and inspect the IGN E and the daylight running lamps (DRL)
fuses.
Is either fuse open?

- Replace the fuse(s) as necessary.
- Inspect for a short to ground on CKT 592 (LT GRN/BLK) or CKT
545 (DK BLU) between the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC) and
the component.
Is the repair complete?

- Install the fuses.
- Remove the DRL relay.
- Using the J 35616
adaptor, connect a fused jumper wire from terminal 30 to terminal
87 of the relay socket.
Do the DRL light?

- Inspect DRL lamp(s) for open filaments.
- Locate and repair the open in CKT 545 (DK BLU) between the UBEC
and the component(s) or CKT 150 (BLK) for a open between ground and the component.

- Using the J 35616
adaptor, connect a test lamp from terminal 85 to terminal 86 of the
relay socket.
- Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using the scan tool, command the daylight running lamps (DRL)
relay on.

| Locate and repair CKT 592 (LT GRN/BLK) for an open between the underhood
bussed electrical center (UBEC) and the BCM.
If no open is found, replace the BCM. Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control
