  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs ?

Go to Step 2

Remove and inspect the RR PRK fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 2609 (BRN/WHT).
  2. Replace the fuse. Refer to Tail/Turn Signal Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Inspect the tail lamp for an open filament.
  2. Replace the filament if needed.
  3. Inspect the connector C4 at the rear lamps bussing block in order to ensure that the connector is properly seated.

Did you find and correct the condition?

--

System OK

Go to Step 5

Connect a self powered test lamp from terminal G to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1750 (BLK) between the lamp and the rear lamps bussing block.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Locate and repair the open in CKT 2609 (BRN/WHT) wire between the fuse and the lamp.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
