Removal Procedure

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 373468 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor assembly harness connector.

  4. Object Number: 360851 Size: SH
  5. Separate the MAF/IAT sensor assembly and the air inlet tube by loosening the hose clamp.

  6. Object Number: 365427 Size: SH

Notice: Handle the MAF/IAT sensor carefully. Do not drop the MAF/IAT sensor. Do not damage the screen located at the air inlet end of the MAF/IAT. Do not touch the sensing elements. Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the sensing elements. Use a small amount of SPO P/N 12345884 lubricant or the soap based equivalent in order to aid in the installation.

  7. Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor assembly from the air cleaner cover by loosening the hose clamp.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 365427 Size: SH

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Important: Ensure to point the flow arrow on the MAF/IAT sensor assembly away from the air cleaner assembly.

  1. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor assembly and the air cleaner cover by tightening the hose clamp.
  2. Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in)
