IMPORTANT:

  1. Inspect the condition of 4WD, Megafuse® and the fuse link. If any fuse or fuse link is open, test all of the related circuits for short to ground. If the fuse continues to fail locate and repair source of the overload. Refer to power distribution schematics.
  2. Verify that grounds G100, G104, G105 and G106 are clean and tight.

  1. Disconnect the auxiliary battery relay connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between CKT 241 (BRN) cavity A and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to run.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

9-14  Volts

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 2

Locate and repair open in CKT 241 (BRN) between the auxiliary battery relay and the left bussed electrical center (LBEC).

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Connect a J 39200 DMM between cavity A and B.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

9-14  Volts

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT 550 (BLK) between the auxiliary battery relay and ground.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a J 39200 DMM between cavity L and B.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

9-14  Volts

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open in CKT 42 (RED) between the auxiliary battery relay and RH battery including the Megafuse®.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Connect a J 39200 DMM between cavity P and B.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

9-14  Volts

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Replace the auxiliary battery relay.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Locate and repair open in CKT 2 (RED) between the auxiliary battery relay and the junction block including the fuse link.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
