Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable(s).
- Remove the instrument panel (IP) cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement
.
• | Engage the parking brake lever. |
• | Lower the gear shift lever to the lowest position. |
• | Lower the steering column to the lowest position. |
- Remove
the screws that retain the IP cluster.
- Disconnect
the IP cluster harness.
- Remove the IP cluster from the vehicle tilting the bottom of the cluster
outward.
Keep fingers and other foreign objects away from the flexible circuit connections.
Installation Procedure
- Connect
the IP cluster harness.
- Install
the IP cluster onto the IP with the screws. Tilt the top of the cluster into the
retainer first to avoid damaging the flexible circuit connections.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m(14 lb in).
- Install the IP cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement
.
• | Raise the steering column to the normal set position. |
• | If equipped with automatic transmission, raise the gear shift lever to
the park position. |
• | Release the parking brake lever. |
- Connect the negative battery cable(s).
