Important:: Power door locks function properly with switch operation. This diagnostic table only addresses the Automatic Door Lock function.

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Roll down the windows.
  3. Close all of the doors.
  4. Connect a scan tool.
  5. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  6. Using the scan tool, inspect for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Using the scan tool, command the door lock relay on.

Do the doors lock?

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT  195 (LT BLU) wire between the BCM and the relay.

If no open is found, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Place the transmission in gear.
  4. Accelerate slowly to 20 MPH and hold the acceleration.
  5. Using the scan tool, read the vehicle speed in the BCM.

Does the scan tool show the correct MPH?
