  1. Remove the memory seat switch from door panel.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multi-meter (DMM) measure the voltage on CKT 2140 (ORN) cavity H.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition to on.
  2. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the voltage on CKT 541 (BRN) cavity G at inline connector C305.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

Go to Step 3

  1. Operate the Set, RCL 1 and RCL 2 positions of the memory seat switch.
  2. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the voltage at cavities E, F, and G of the memory seat switch while operating all switch selections.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate the inline connector C305 at driver seat switch.
  2. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the voltage at cavities H, J, and K of connector C305 while operating all memory seat switch selections.

Does the J 39200 DMM read the specified range on the respective circuits?

11-14V

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 9

Replace the memory seat module located under the seat cushion.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate and repair open in CKT 2140 (ORN) between the memory seat switch and the mirror-lock fuse located in the left bussed electrical center (LBEC).
  2. If no open is found, test for short to ground refer to Testing for Short to Ground in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair open in CKT 541 (BRN) between the inoperative heated seat switch and IGN 3 fuse located in the left bussed electrical center LBEC. If OK, test for short to ground refer to Testing for Short to Ground in wiring systems.

Replace the memory seat switch.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Ensure the memory seat switch is disconnected.
  2. Disconnect the inline connector C305 at driver seat.
  3. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the continuity on CKTs 614 (ORN), 615 (WHT) and 616 (PPL) between the memory seat switch and connector C305.

Is continuity present on the respective circuits?

Locate and repair short to ground on circuits 614, 615 or 616 respectively.

Is the repair complete?
