Important: If the suspected cause of the inoperative sunroof is a power interruption to the sunroof control module, the sunroof must be re-initialized. Refer to Sunroof Motor Synchronization .

Important: 

  1. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Power Sunroof before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
  2.    • There are no DTCs set.
       • The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
  3. Review the system operation and circuit description in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to Power Sunroof Description and Power Sunroof Circuit Description .

Visual/Physical Inspection

    • Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the Sunroof System. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Wiring Systems.
    • Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
    • Inspect the ground to be clean and tight.
    • Inspect connector C1 and C6 at the IP wiring harness junction block to be fully seated and terminals are tight.

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Symptom List

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

    • If the power sunroof operates for 30 minutes after the ignition has been turned off go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) On After Timeout in Retained Accessory Power (RAP).
    •  Power Sunroof Inoperative
