Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

Verify the fault is present.

Does the System operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Turn On the ignition with the engine OFF.
2. Set the park brake.
3. Place the transmission in reverse.
4. Connect a test lamp between the fused back-up lamp feed circuit at the inoperative lamp connector and to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Connect a test lamp between the lamp ground circuit of the inoperative lamp connector to a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the fused back up lamp feed circuit between the lamp and the fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in the ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the lamp.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
