Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

Verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Is the problem the left side turn signals?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

Remove and inspect the LT TURN fuse. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 5

Repair for a short to ground in the fused turn signal lamp feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 18

  1. Re install the fuse.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn ON the left turn signal.
  4. Scan Tool Connect a scan tool.
  5. Using the scan tool, read the left turn signal input in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show ON?

Go to Step 11

Connect a test lamp (back probe) between the LH turn/hazard output circuit at C201A and a good ground.

Does the test light/flash?

Go to Step 12

Remove and inspect the RT TURN fuse. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 13

  1. Re install the fuse.
  2. Turn ON the ignition
  3. Turn on the right turn signal.
  4. Connect the Scan Tool .
  5. Using the scan tool, read the right turn signal input in the BCM.

Does the scan tool show ON?

Go to Step 14

Connect a test lamp (back probe) between the RH turn/hazard output circuit at C201A and to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate/flash?

Go to Step 17

Repair the open in the LH fused turn/hazard output circuit between the body wiring harness junction block and the LT TURN fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 18

Repair the open in the LH turn/hazard output circuit between the switch and the LT TURN fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 18

Repair the short to ground in the fused turn signal lamp feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 18

Repair the open in the RH turn/hazard output circuit between body wiring harness junction block and the RT TURN fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Replace the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Repair the open in the RH turn/hazard output circuit between the switch and the body wiring harness junction block and the RT TURN fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Replace the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
