Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

Verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Step 3

Remove and inspect the LR PRK fuse. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 6

Connect a test lamp between the lamp ground circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

  1. Inspect the tail lamp for an open filament. Replace the lamp if needed.
  2. Ensure that the connector C2 at the rear lamps bussing block or C405 are properly seated. Refer to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems.

Was the problem found?

Go to Step 9

  1. Repair the short to ground in the fused park lamp feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Repair the open in the lamp ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the fused park lamp feed circuit between the fuse and the lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
